S is for Satan | Satan and Santa Same Person?
December 20th, 2009Are Satan and Santa the same person? Same letters and same number of letters in their names. Both wear red and seem immune to the elements. Both live in remote realms. Both can fly. Both have small followers that help them. Both have to do with whether you are naughty or nice. And you never see them together. Coincidence? I think not!
Merry Christmas!
C is for Cat | Oscar the Psychic Death Cat
June 3rd, 2009Everybody knows that cats have 7 lives, but did you know they have 6 senses too? Oscar, the seemingly psychic cat, made the headlines a couple years back for being able to accurately predict peoples impending death.
It’s so typical. Something exciting like a “psychic death cat” comes along, makes the news big, and then … magically disappears from the public mind. Not much news on this story since 2007. Science is mum. If anybody has more recent information on Oscar, please post.
G is for Ghosts | Holland Michigan Ghost Hunting
May 24th, 2009I typed “paranormal holland michigan” into Google today and I found a ghost hunting story in the local paper from 2008. Entitled, “Field Guide to Ghosts” by Stephen Kloosterman, the story ran in the Holland Sentinel. The Holland area, and West Michigan in general, is known for its strong Christian conservative leaning, so I was a little surprised to find the story. Since Holland is also my home town, I thought I should put up a link.

Field Guide to Ghosts
If you are from Holland, or in West Michigan along the lake shore, and you have more info on local ghost hunting, or local hauntings, please comment.
M is for MAOI | MAO Inhibitors and Psychedelia

G is for God | The God Chemical and the Brain
May 22nd, 2009It has been over 120 years now since Nietzsche proclaimed the death of God. Well, the jokes on Nietzsche now, because God is back and he lives, not in your heart, but in your brain.
Y is for Yeti | “If I saw a yeti, I would eat him.”
May 21st, 2009I was browsing the Graham Hancock online newsdesk, an almost daily affair, and I saw an interesting article on evidence supporting the idea that the neanderthals went extinct because homo sapiens were eating them. No wonder the yeti, bigfoot, and the abominable snowman, all neanderthal look-a-likes are hiding from us!
Z is for Zener | Zener Cards Review
May 21st, 2009If anybody has knowledge of a good place to get Zener cards online, please comment. For those of you that don’t know, Zener cards are an esp testing tool named after their inventor, parapsychologist Karl Zener. Any online suppliers or distributors of Zener cards are welcome to post.
Hopefully, any submitted reviews will be more convincing than this guy…
P is for Paranormal | Paranormal Temperance
May 21st, 2009I would like to introduce a new phraseologism to the paranormal debate and to the occult sciences in general: Paranormal Temperance.
Paranormal Temperance: When a subject displays disciplined moderation in the indulgence of a natural curiosity, or passion towards the paranormal, or also a moderation in the practice of paranormal abilities.
The purpose of this post is to express my humanistic intentions with this blog as a whole.
X is for Xenoglossia | The “X” in the XYZ of the Obscure
May 20th, 2009Ok, the title of this post is a bit of a stretch, I admit, but I thought “The XYZ of the Obscure” was a fitting antithesis for “An ABC of the Paranormal” …Xenoglossia is about as obscure as it gets.
V is for Van Pelt | Dr S. J. Van Pelt - Hypnotist
May 20th, 2009Dr. S. J. Van Pelt was an important figure in the history of hypnotism and science. He was one of the earliest pioneers in the scientific study of hypnotism. Hypnotism is one of the many fully legitimate areas of research who’s scientific progress has been severely retarded thanks to the (often sensational) meddling of “well intended” skeptics and debunkers.
Even though the scientific, and skeptic communities have largely ceased in their attacks on hypnotism, it seems that the cloud of fraudulent suspicion against hypnotism still remains strong in popular opinion.
